TRADITION WITH A TWIST
The Chippy at Granish opened its doors
with the intention of primarily catering
for the local community. Situated at the
north end of the village on the road to
Dalfaber it offers a convenient location
for residents with virtually drive to the
door parking. The best quality fish and chips can only
be produced using top quality ingredients.
Our Haddock has been sourced to
our specification, wild caught in the
north east Atlantic from responsible
fisheries. Alternative species such as
Pouting , Coley and Dab are planned to
be introduced to show our support for
sustainable fishing. Our potato merchant
based in Morayshire ensures that he
supplies us with the finest quality
We take these two products and cook them in vegetable oil to make a natural, nutritious meal for the family which is still good value for money and a valuable source of protein, fibre , iron and vitamins, providing a third of the recommended daily allowance of vitamins for men and nearly half for women. At less than 10g of fat per 100g it is actually much healthier than many other takeaway favourites. Everyone is aware of climate issues today and helping the environment. To address this we have returned to traditional values using brown paper and greaseproof paper eliminating the use of plastic and polystyrene. This means virtually all our packaging is both biodegradable and compostable.
